Biodiversity connects us all. It is the foundation of all life on Earth, fundamental to human well-being, a healthy planet, and economic prosperity for all people. The International Day for Biodiversity reminds us that 2025 marks the beginning of a decisive phase in the race to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and implement the targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework by 2030. The theme for this year focuses on “harmony with nature and sustainable development.”

As part of our commitment to biodiversity, we’ll be teaching a micro-certificate called Economics of Biodiversity and Natural Capital Markets at Concordia University’s John Molson Executive Centre. The course is designed to clarify how economic and financial frameworks shape biodiversity outcomes, while examining investment strategies, market-based conservation efforts, and sustainable finance approaches.
