The future of water is being shaped by the Global South.
This UNFCCC Side Event at COP30 will bring together leaders, scientists, and policymakers to explore how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can guide the implementation of the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA).
Cities in the Global South will demonstrate advancements in nature-based water and sanitation initiatives that align with the preliminary objectives of the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). This event aims to emphasize the potential for replicating and scaling water security adaptation solutions on a global scale, establishing Latin America and the Global South as frontrunners in GGA implementation. Additionally, it will function as a forum to unite FONPLATA’s partner network, engage in discussions regarding GGA indicators, and investigate funding opportunities to enhance water resilience following COP30.
