Our team

Impact starts with connection, collaboration, and caring. We need to work together to find global sustainability solutions and to turn knowledge into action.

Our small team has a big goal: to make the science on sustainability and digital transformations accessible to everyone.

Sustainability in the Digital Age (SDA) is based at Concordia University in Montreal and hosts the Future Earth Canada Hub. We see the digital world as an important space for collaboration and communication, with powerful tools that can amplify progress on global sustainability goals. However, these tools also have the potential to pose many risks for humanity and the planet, especially if we don’t understand them.

While good research on digital transformations and sustainability exists, there is a persistent gap in getting science to decision-makers and the general public. With the rapid increase in disinformation, this gap is growing.

We strive to support more integrated and transdisciplinary research approaches, greater community engagement and increased knowledge mobilization with the mission to get good science to more people locally, nationally, and internationally.

SDA began as a research project on digital transformations, created in collaboration with over 250 experts and supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ). We’ve since grown to conduct and support research, build collective intelligence, and lead capacity building in the intersecting space of digital technologies and global environmental sustainability.
