The use of artificial intelligence is a growing phenomenon in our societies. AI is a powerful tool for working towards sustainability and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. On the other hand, the consideration of the SDGs leads us to question ourselves on the framework for the deployment of AI and on the way to mitigate the perverse effects that it can cause.
This session will explore initiatives that mobilize digital tools to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs while taking care to integrate the social and environmental dimensions in the development of these tools.
Speakers:
- Juste Rajaonson – Professor, Université du Québec à Montréal
- Jennifer Garard – Deputy Director, Sustainability in the Digital Age, Future Earth Canada
- Nadim Choucair – Co-Founder, Global Goals Directory
Moderator: Jason Fournier – Activities Coordinator, Institut EDS, Université Laval
Part of the Together|Ensemble 2023 conference, Canada’s national gathering on the SDGs.”
